Encore! Leadership Broward |
In 2011, Leadership Broward Foundation, Inc. (LBF) launched its newest program, Encore! Leadership Broward. Geared to those 55 and older, Encore! Leadership Broward's (Encore!) goals are to educate, inspire and connect current and soon to be retirees with the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to our community. By providing timely and relevant community information, as well as support tapping into their personal leadership goals, we ready today's retiree to make impactful community service the cornerstone of their new lives.
Program Structure
The program will run over a ten-week period. It will include five program days that will concentrate on information in Broward such as the arts, human services, and local government. The purpose is to provide a "backstage pass" to Broward and show what needs there are in our community. Focus will also be placed on benefits in the area that are available to class participants of which they may not be aware.
On the final program day, a not-for-profit fair will commence where class participants can speak with not-for-profits to determine how they might contribute their expertise and experience to benefit the organization.
Upon graduation, Encore! participants are inducted into the LBF family. They are invited and included in all foundation activities -- special Encore! alumni events will be scheduled to provide a stimulating social continuum for participants.
