Check out this powerful moment from our conversation with Matthew Caldwell, CEO of the Florida Panthers, moderated by the incredible Monica Cepero, Broward County Government Administrator. Thank you to our Lunch Sponsor, Amazon.com.
When asked about building a winning team, Matthew shared a gem that stuck with us:
"People willing to surrender their ego."
He went on to say:
"You hear the word ego a lot in business and life. But I remember when I met Vinny (Owner of the Florida Panthers), he said to me: ‘Ego will be 99% of your problems in business.’ I thought that sounds like a high percentage, maybe it’s 85%, 90%… but Vinny was right, like always.”
Let that sink in.
