YLB APPLICATION PROCESS

Step 1: Complete the online application.

Step 2: Download and submit 2 Reference Forms or if you wish to complete the Reference Form virtually – share this link with your 2 References. (https://www.leadershipbroward.org/ylb-reference/) Your References should be to an adult who knows you well, other than a parent or relative (i.e., teacher, administrator, mentor, minister, rabbi, employer, coach, etc.).

Step 3: Complete and submit the School and Parent/Guardian Consent Form.

Step 4: Complete Financial Assistance Form (if applicable).

Step 5: Pay the $25 application fee by clicking HERE.

All of the application materials must be completed and emailed to apply@leadershipbroward.org by April 10, 2026.

APPLICATION TIMELINE

January – March 2026:

There will be information sessions for YLB Class XL at individual schools as requested.  Please ask your school to contact Andrew Zullo at 954-767-8866 or andrew@leadershipbroward.org if you would like someone to come and talk to current sophomores about the program.

April 2026:

The YLB Class XL Selection Committee will review applications. LBF is committed to cultural and economic diversity and considers all students who have demonstrated leadership skills and talents.

Late April/Early May 2026:

An email will be sent to all applicants notifying them of their acceptance status.

May 12, 2026:

Accepted students must attend program orientation.

Tuition
The program costs $975 and covers all program costs, including bus transportation and lunch on each of the days. Financial aid is available based on need. A $25 application fee is due at the time of application. The final payment must be paid in full by May 11, 2026.
