Step 1: Complete the online application.
Step 2: Download and submit 2 Reference Forms or if you wish to complete the Reference Form virtually – share this link with your 2 References. (https://www.leadershipbroward.org/ylb-reference/) Your References should be to an adult who knows you well, other than a parent or relative (i.e., teacher, administrator, mentor, minister, rabbi, employer, coach, etc.).
Step 3: Complete and submit the School and Parent/Guardian Consent Form.
Step 4: Complete Financial Assistance Form (if applicable).
Step 5: Pay the $25 application fee by clicking HERE.
All of the application materials must be completed and emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org by or before Friday, April 7, 2023.
January – March 2023:
There will be information sessions for YLB Class XXXVII at individual schools as requested. Please ask your school to contact Andrew Zullo at 954-767-8866 or email@example.com if you would like someone to come and talk to current sophomores about the program.
Applications will be reviewed by the YLB Class XXXVII Selection Committee. LBF is committed to cultural and economic diversity and considers all students who have demonstrated leadership skills and talents.
Early May 2023:
An email will be sent to all applicants notifying them of their acceptance status.
May 16, 2023:
Accepted students must attend a mandatory program orientation.
The cost of the program is $975 and covers all program costs, including bus transportation and lunch on each of the days. Financial aid is available based on need. A $25 application fee is due when submitting the application. If not accepted, the $25 application fee will be refunded. The final payment must be paid in full by May 12, 2023.

All students are required to participate in a community service project with a small group of YLB classmates outside of YLB days and after school hours. Students can earn up to 30 hours of community service throughout the year.
