TESTIMONIALS
-
Leadership Broward not only showed me a unique ‘behind the scenes’ look at our community but also introduced me to the various non-profits that give back to those in need. I’m more involved now than ever….and I love it!”

SOCIALLY GOOD
Event Navigation
SociallyGood is a community event presented by Leadership Broward Foundation and it’s open to everyone! Each month Socially Good will feature a nonprofit partner who will receive 100% of the proceeds from all SociallyGood guest fees collected from that evening. This month we present Light of the World Clinic as our partner non-profit. Plan to be at the next SociallyGood on the 3rd Wednesday of the month.
The clinic was established in 1989 by the late Dr. Erwin M. Vasquez and other community leaders with a mission to provide quality culturally sensitive health care and preventative medical services to the disadvantaged residents of Broward County.
The clinic focuses its services on children and their families who are generally without insurance or financial resources to obtain the proper health care. In any given year, the clinic serves thousands of disadvantaged indigent, low-income middle class and medically under served men, women and children in Broward County. This is accomplished by our community outreach and the many volunteer doctors, specialists and medical professionals.
The clinic reaches out to residential areas where there are at-risk residents and provides them monthly, quarterly and annual community-based health screenings and quality health care services in a sensitive manner without regard to ethnic origin or ability to pay.
By providing free medical visits and services to the underserved and at-risk community, the clinic provides early medical intervention by treating them and stabilizing their hypertension, diabetes, coronary disease, obesity and other widespread diseases.
